What are podcasts?
Podcasting is a way of publishing audio files over the internet. The difference between a podcast and a regular file download is the subscription element. The podcast items (audio files) are published via a RSS feed so that users can track newly published items.
How do I listen to Podcasts?
You will need to download and install a piece of podcast software in order to download podcasts to your computer or transfer them to your MP3 player. Software obtained from itunes or ipodder.
How do I subscribe?
For ease of use we have produced a number of different methods for you to subscribe to the Go lakes Podcasts.
iTunes
If you use iTunes to subscribe to podcasts then simply press the ‘Subsribe with iTunes' link on the right hand side of the podcast page. Your browser will notify you that you are about to launch an application. Click ‘Launch Application' to open iTunes and subscribe to the podcast. If you don't have iTunes then you will have to install it before you subscribe in this way.
If you have a Google profile then you can add a podcast to either your Google homepage or your Google reader. To do this, simply press the ‘Google' button on the right hand side of the podcast page.
Yahoo
If you have a yahoo profile then you can add a podcast to your myYahoo homepage. To do this simply press the ‘myYahoo' button on the right hand side of the podcast page.
